Who this service helps
Applicant must own and occupy the home, be unable to obtain affordable credit elsewhere, have household income within the very-low-income limit, and live at an eligible rural address. Grant applicants must be age 62 or older and unable to repay a repair loan.

Service area: Eligible rural addresses in Anderson, Cherokee, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Rusk, Smith, and Upshur counties; address-level rural eligibility applies.

Maximum standard loan is $40,000 and maximum standard grant is $10,000; combined assistance may reach $50,000. Loans have a 20-year term and 1% fixed interest. Disaster-area limits may differ. Grants must be repaid if the property is sold within three years.
