How to get help

Gracewood is not accepting applications at the time of review. The official page says applications for the Spring 2027 session are expected to become available in mid-November 2026. When the application window opens, eligible mothers should submit the online Family Relief application; contact the program coordinator by phone or email for current details.

Who this service helps

Applicants must be single mothers with full-time custody of at least one child under 18; have full-time employment at the current job for more than six months; have lived in stable rental or owner housing for more than six months; be the primary lessee or owner responsible for the rent or mortgage; have a reliable insured vehicle and valid U.S. driver's license; have no controlled or illegal substance use within 12 months; maintain a checking or savings account in good standing; have no prior Gracewood program participation; and pass a background check.

Cost / fees

Accepted participants may receive $500 per month for six months, totaling $3,000 when participation and attendance requirements are met.

About this service

Family Relief provides supplemental rental assistance, case management, group meetings, educational classes, and planning support. Participants attend required in-person activities at Gracewood's Houston campus and may receive childcare during scheduled client meetings and events.
