How to get help
Use the 2026 application page and gather the listed identity, Social Security, income, and benefit documents. The page states that applications for Texas City and La Porte began September 9, 2026. The Family Selection Committee reviews applications and may conduct interviews and home visits; application does not guarantee selection, financing, or a home.
Who this service helps
Applicants must demonstrate housing need, agree to 200 household sweat-equity hours and required courses, fall within the published income range, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, maintain current employment, and be able to make monthly payments and a one-time closing payment.
