How to get help
Submit the signed written complaint online or by fax or mail and include copies of relevant supporting documents; do not send originals. Telephone or unsigned email complaints are not accepted. The respondent receives a copy if an investigation opens, and the complainant may need to testify at a hearing in Austin.
Who this service helps
The subject property must be in Texas for a complaint involving a licensed or registered person, or the alleged conduct must fall within the Department's enforcement authority. The Department does not regulate federal or state banks, real estate brokers, title insurers, appraisers, unregulated buyers or sellers, or income and investment properties.
