How to get help
Call the Help Line for guidance or select the applicable insurance type on the official complaint page and use the online complaint system. For many complaints, first contact the insurance company. Supporting documents may be uploaded, and consent may be required so TDI can share information with the company or person named in the complaint.
Who this service helps
Consumers with questions or complaints involving insurance companies, agents, or adjusters regulated by TDI. TDI cannot resolve every dispute and does not handle complaints against unrelated service providers such as body shops, contractors, or roofers.
Where this service is available
Service area: Statewide Texas insurance consumer assistance, including residents of the Central Texas counties.
A service area describes where help is offered or who may be served. It is not necessarily the organization’s physical location.
About this service
TDI answers insurance questions, guides consumers through filing complaints, and accepts complaints concerning health, auto, homeowners, renters, title, flood, life, annuity, and other insurance matters within its authority.
