How to get help
Contact a participating TDHCA Mortgage Credit Certificate lender and ask the lender to determine eligibility and reserve the certificate as part of the mortgage process. TDHCA does not process a future homebuyer's MCC application directly.
Who this service helps
Generally available to qualifying first-time homebuyers who have not owned and occupied a primary residence during the preceding three years, with exceptions for qualified veterans and qualifying targeted-area purchases. Income and purchase-price limits, a Texas principal residence, mortgage qualification, and approved homebuyer education are required.
