Who this service helps
Applicants must be at least 18, provide proof of authorization to work in the United States, provide proof of a GED or higher education or complete the alternative assessment, have household income below 200% of the federal poverty level, and reside in a listed service county.
Where this service is available
Service area: Eligible residents of Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell, Burnet, or Blanco counties; the official program also serves Fayette, Lee, and Llano counties outside Central Texas.

About this service
The 160-hour course covers plumbing and construction math, measuring, safety, hand and power tools, plastic, steel and copper pipe, hangers, cutting and threading, fittings, and drain-waste-vent systems. It includes employer and apprenticeship visits, OSHA 10, and assistance applying for a Plumber's Apprentice license.
