How to get help
Start an eVetRecs request online with identity verification, or mail or fax a signed SF-180 or other accepted signed request. Include the Veteran's service identity details and proof of death when requesting as next of kin.
Who this service helps
Veterans and qualifying next of kin may request non-archival records. Records become archival and open to the public 62 years after separation; access restrictions and fees differ by record status and requester relationship.
