How to get help
Complete HomeAid Houston's Qualifying Questionnaire with agency and project information. Agencies whose projects advance must be prepared to provide nonprofit determination, governance, audited financial, tax, balance-sheet, profit-and-loss, program, and outcome information. Application does not guarantee selection or construction assistance.
Who this service helps
Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit care providers serving people experiencing homelessness, pass HomeAid's vetting process, and propose a new-construction or renovation project valued above $100,000. Applicants must be able to raise funds for the build and demonstrate capacity to maintain the completed facility and added operating costs.

Cost / fees
HomeAid says donated materials and labor save selected agencies an average of 45% to 58% depending on project size, location, and complexity. The agency remains responsible for fundraising and ongoing facility costs.

HomeAid Builds pairs selected homeless-care providers with Greater Houston Builders Association members who seek donated labor and materials for major projects. Eligible project types may include life-skills centers, transitional supportive housing, group living, offices, and other facilities that expand beds or services.
