How to get help
Call 713-224-8100 to speak with the certified HECM housing counselor and arrange an in-person, virtual, or telephone session. Satisfactory completion provides a counseling certificate but does not guarantee loan eligibility, approval, terms, or closing.

People seeking HUD-required counseling before applying for a Home Equity Conversion Mortgage. Loan eligibility, property requirements, age requirements, and other lending criteria are determined separately and are not established by completion of counseling.

A Credit Coalition certified HECM housing counselor explains how reverse mortgages work and what they require. Participants who satisfactorily complete the counseling session receive the signed HECM certificate required if they choose to proceed with a HECM loan application.
