How to get help
Submit the electronic Student Emergency Fund Application linked from the official page with all requested answers and supporting documents. The committee sends its decision to the student's Kilgore College email, generally within one to two days, and may require additional steps. Recipients must submit receipts to Financial Aid within 10 days.
Who this service helps
Applicants must generally be currently enrolled in at least six semester credit hours or a workforce/continuing-education program, actively attending, in good academic and disciplinary standing, have completed at least one full semester unless waived for workforce/continuing-education students, have no college balance, document an unexpected critical hardship, consider other resources first, and not have received the fund during the current academic year unless extraordinary circumstances apply.

Cost / fees
Awards range from $50 to $500, with a maximum annual award of $500 per student, based on need and available funds. Funds are limited, awarded first come, first served, and paid directly to the vendor.
About this service
The fund may pay a vendor directly for needs such as replacement of essential belongings after a disaster or theft, temporary housing, emergency medication costs, emergency rent or utilities, and emergency transportation. Awards are not loans and do not require repayment.
