Call 512-854-4163 to discuss options and screening for possible no-cost County Attorney representation. Self-represented applicants may use the downloadable packet and seek form help from the Travis County Law Library before filing with the appropriate clerk.
Who this service helps
A person affected by family violence, stalking, sexual assault, trafficking, or another covered act, regardless of citizenship or legal status. For Travis County issuance, the violence must have occurred in the county or the victim or respondent must live there. Additional type-specific rules apply.

About this service
Protective orders may restrict contact, require distance from a home, workplace, school, or daycare, and prohibit firearm possession. Travis County provides application instructions for family violence, sexual assault or trafficking, stalking, and burglary protective orders, and the County Attorney may represent qualifying applicants.
